AMRITSAR
Amritsar is a major commercial and cultural centre in the heart of Punjab. The city is the spiritual and cultural centre of the Sikh religion and is home to the Harmandir Sahib, also known as the Golden Temple. Respectfully marvel at the Indian and Pakistani soldiers who march-off nightly at the Wagha Border, and at the Jallian Wala Bagh the site of the 1919 Amritsar Massacre in 1919.
DALHOUSIE
Dalhousie is a high-altitude town spread across 5 hills near the Dhauladhar mountain range in the north Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It’s home to colonial-era buildings, including St. Francis and St. John’s churches, which date back to the rule of the British Raj in the 1800s. A trek up Dainkund Peak leads to Pholani Devi Temple. To the north, Subhash Baoli is a peaceful area with pine trees and panoramic view
DHARAMSHALA
Dharamshala is a city in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. Surrounded by cedar forests on the edge of the Himalayas, this hillside city is home to the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan government-in-exile. The Thekchen Chöling Temple Complex is a spiritual center for Tibetan Buddhism, while the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives houses thousands of precious manuscripts.
Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrive Amritsar
On arrival at Amritsar Airport / Railway station you will be transfer to the hotel in Amritsar. On arrival check-in at the hotel. Later in afternoon proceed to visit Golden Temple to witness evening ceremony. Return back to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel in Amritsar.
Day 2 - Amritsar full day sightseeing
Today morning after breakfast, proceed to visit revered Golden temple, located in the holy city of Amritsar is a living symbol of the spiritual and historical traditions of the Sikhs and their chief place of pilgrimage. Later proceed to the garden site of Jallianwala Bagh Massacre that is located close to the Golden Temple Complex. This public garden houses a memorial, which was established in 1951, to pay homage to the thousands of people, who were killed in the incident. Also visit Shri Durgiana Mandir, is a Hindu temple situated in the city of Amritsar. Though a Hindu temple, its architecture is similar to the Sikh Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple). Later in the evening visit Wagah border to experience the India-Pakistan parade and lowering of the flag ceremony. Return back to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel in Amritsar.
Day 3 - Amritsar-Dalhousie-half day city sightseeing
Today morning after breakfast proceed to Dalhousie. Dalhousie, in western Himachal is full of old world charm and holds lingering echoes of the Raj era. On arrival check- in at the hotel. Later in the afternoon, proceed for half day city sightseeing of Dalhousie. The place is named after the British governor General of the 19th century, Lord Dalhousie. Dalhousie has charming colonial architecture, including some beautiful churches. Visit Punjpula, Subhash Baoli, St. Francis Church and St. John’s Church. Return back to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel in Dalhousie.
Day 4 - Dalhousie-full day excursion to khajjiar and chamba
Today morning after breakfast, you will proceed for a full day excursion to Chamba & Khajjiar. Khajjiar, often called India’s Switzerland has the exquisite glade of circumference of about 5km. along its fringes. Thick forests of deodar climb the slopes and the snow-line rests above these woods. After visiting Khajjiar drive to Chamba town. As a former princely State, it is one of the oldest in the surrounding mountains and dates back to the sixth century. Visit Laxmi Narayan Temple, the Chowgan: Chamba’s wide concourse, Bhuri Singh Museum; Named after Raja Bhuri Singh of Chamba and St. Andrew’s church. Later in the evening return back to hotel in Dalhousie. Overnight at the hotel in Dalhousie.
Day 5 - Dalhousie-dharamshala-half day city sightseeing
Today morning after breakfast drive to Dharamshala. Dharamshala also known as little Lahsa, has been the seat of his Holiness, the Dalai Lama, the leader of the Tibetans, since 1960. Later in the afternoon proceed for half day city sightseeing covering Mcleodganj, Dal Lake, Dalai Lama temple, Bhagsu Nag and Naddi. Return back to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel in Dharamshala.
Day 6 - Dharamshala-half day city sightseeing
Today morning after breakfast, proceed for half day city sightseeing of Dharamshala. Visit St. John Church in the Wilderness, State Museum, War memorial and Norbulingka Institute. Rest of the day is at leisure to explore local market. Return back to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel in Dharamshala.
Day 7 - Depart Dharamshala-pathankot/Amirtsar
Today morning after breakfast, you will be transferred to Pathankot Railway Station or Amritsar Airport / Railway station to board your flight / train back home or to your next destination.
