LEH
Leh is a city in Indian-administered Ladakh in the disputed Kashmir region. It is the largest city and the joint capital of Ladakh, which is an Indian-administered union territory. Leh, located in the Leh district, was also the historical capital of the Kingdom of Ladakh.
NUBRA
Nubra, also called Dumra, is a historical region of Ladakh, India that is currently administered as a subdivision and a tehsil in the Leh district.
PANGONG
Pangong Tso or Pangong Lake is an endorheic lake spanning eastern Ladakh and West Tibet situated at an elevation of 4,225 m. It is 134 km long and divided into five sublakes, called Pangong Tso, Tso Nyak, Rum Tso and Nyak Tso.
Itinerary
Day 1 - ARRIVE
Arrive at Leh Airport, On arrival check-in at the hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure to acclimatize to the high altitude of Ladakh. In the evening you may take a walk to the local market but we highly recommend to give complete rest to the body. Overnight at the hotel in Leh.
Day 2 - LEH FULL DAU EXCURSION TO SHAM VALLEY TILL SANDAM
Today morning after breakfast, proceed for full day excursion to Sham Valley. Visit Hall of Fame, which was constructed by the Indian Army to commemorate the sacrifice of soldiers during Indo-Pak wars. Also visit Mahakal Temple and Spituk Gompa – an 11th century structure, next on the list of attractions is the majestic Gurdwara Patthar Sahib. Nestled deep in the Himalayas, it was constructed by the Lamas of Leh in 1517 to honour the visit of Guru Nanak Dev – the founder of the Sikh faith. Drive another few kms to witness the magic of Magnetic Hill that defies the law of gravity. It has been noticed that when a vehicle is parked on neutral gear on this metallic road, it seems to slide up and further. Driving through a picturesque landscape, we reach the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar River (Sangam). Later return back to the hotel via same route. In the evening, you may take a walk around the beautiful town and explore the local flavours it offers to the visitor. Overnight at the hotel in Leh.
Day 3 - LEH-NUBTA
Today morning after breakfast, drive to Nubra Valley via Khardungla (Highest Motorable road in the world, 18,380ft). On the way visit Desert Himalaya Adventure Park where you can have lunch and enjoy adventure activities like World’s longest High Altitude Zip line and ATV ride at Khalsar sand dunes (On your own). Continue your drive to Nubra. On-arrival at Nubra check-in at the hotel/camp. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight at the hotel/ camp in Nubra.
Day 4 - NUBAR- HALF DAY CITY SIGHTSEEEING
Today morning after breakfast, enjoy half day city sightseeing of Nubra. Visit 108ft high Maitriya Buddha Statue at Diskit monastery and Hunder Sand Dunes where you can enjoy double humped camel ride (On Your Own). Later return back to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel/ camp in Nubra.
Day 5 - NUBRA-PANGONG LAKE
Today morning after breakfast, drive to Pangong Lake (14,500ft) through the Shayok River Valley. A beautiful drive of approx. 04hrs and you’ll be at one of the most beautiful places of the planet. On arrival in Pangong check-in at the hotel/camp. Later spend some time around the lake visiting the 03 Idiot shooting point, try local food at any of the small restaurant around the Lake shore. Evening time is at leisure, you can enjoy the colour changing lake and the sun set on the banks of lake. Return back to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel/ camp in Pangong Lake.
Day 6 - PONGONG LAKE-LEH
Today early morning enjoy the picturesque view of Sun rise on lake. Post breakfast start your drive to Leh, this time crossing the mighty Changla pass at 17000ft. On the way visit Thiksey Monastery which is one of the largest and architecturally most impressive Gompas of Ladakh. There are several temples in this Gompas, containing images, stupas and wall paintings of Buddha, which are exquisite. Also visit Shey Palace on a hillock 15kms before Leh, it was once the residence of the royal family. A 7.5mts high copper statue of Buddha, plated with gold and the largest of its kind, is installed here. After visiting Shey Palace continue drive to Leh en-route two brief halts at Druk Pema Karpo School AKA Rancho’s School (03 Idiot fame) and Sindhu Ghaat where the annual Sindhu Darshan festival is held. Reach Leh and check-in at the hotel. Later you can take a walk to Leh market for souvenir shopping. Overnight at the hotel in Leh.
Day 7 - DEPART LEH
Today morning after breakfast, you will be transferred to Leh Airport to board your flight back home or to your next destination
