GUPTKASHI
Guptakashi, Gupta Kashi or Guptkashi is a fairly large town located at an elevation of 1,319 metres in the Kedar-khanda, in Garhwal Himalayas of Rudraprayag district in Uttarakhand, India. It is known for its ancient Vishwanath Temple dedicated to the god Shiva, which is similar to the one in Varanasi.
KEDARNATH
Kedarnath is a town and Nagar Panchayat in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, India, known primarily for the Kedarnath Temple. It is approximately 86 kilometres from Rudraprayag, the district headquarter. Kedarnath is the most remote of the four Chota Char Dham pilgrimage sites.
BADRINATH
Badrinath is a town and nagar panchayat in Chamoli district in the state of Uttarakhand, India. A Hindu holy place, it is one of the four sites in India’s Char Dham pilgrimage and is also part of India’s Chota Char Dham pilgrimage circuit. It gets its name from the Badrinath Temple.
RUDRAPRAYAG
Rudraprayag is a town and a municipality in Rudraprayag district in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. Rudraprayag is one of the Panch Prayag of Alaknanda River, the point of confluence of rivers Alaknanda and Mandakini. Kedarnath, a Hindu holy town is located 86 km from Rudraprayag.
Itinerary
Day 1 - ARRIVE HARIDWAR/DEHRADU-GUPTKASHI
On early morning arrival (Must Be Before 7/8am) in Airport / Railway station, you will be transferred to Guptkashi. On arrival check-in at the hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure to explore the town. Overnight at the hotel/Camps in Guptkashi.
Day 2 - GUPTKASHI-SONPRAYAG-KEDARTH
Today early morning after breakfast, drive to Sonprayag. From Sonprayag, you will start your 20km trek to Kedarnath. You can hire a Doli or a horse, for your trek (On your own). Mandakini, one of the main tributaries of the Ganges originates at Kedarnath and flows through Gaurikund. On arrival check-in at Govt. Camps/ Lodges. Overnight at the Govt. Camps/Lodges in Kedarnath. (Only basic accommodation is available on sharing basis with only room basis, you can take meal directly).
Day 3 - KEDARNATH-SONPRAYAG-GUPTKASHI
Today early morning after taking bath you will proceed to temple for the ‘Abhishek’ to Kedarnath Shiva. Everyone can go inside Garbha Griha and touch the idol. You can also prostrate with your head touching the deity etc. After darshan and puja you will return back to the Govt. Camps / Lodges. Later you will start the return trek from Kedarnath to Sonprayag. The vehicle will wait for you in Sonprayag Car Parking. Later you will be transferred to Guptkashi. On arrival check-in at hotel/ Camps. Overnight at the hotel/ Camps in Guptkashi.
Day 4 - GUPTKASI-JOSHIMATH-BADRINATH
Today morning after breakfast, drive to Badrinath via Joshimath (Must cross Govind ghat before 5:30 pm). On arrival check-in at the hotel. Afternoon time is free to relax. In the evening, proceed to Tapt Kund (Hot Spring), take bath and then visit Badrinath Temple for darshan. After taking darshan return back to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel in Badrinath.
Day 5 - BADRINATH-JOSHIMATH-RUDRAPRAYAG
Today morning after breakfast, proceed for Badrinath local sightseeing visit Mana Village and Bheem Pul. In the afternoon drive back to Rudraprayag via Karanprayag. Rudraprayag is a small pilgrim town on the holy confluence of river Alaknanda and Mandakini. On arrival check-in at the hotel. Rest of the day is free to explore the Rudraprayag town. Overnight at the hotel in Rudraprayag.
Day 6 - RUDRAPRAYAG-RISHIKESH-DEPART HARIDWAR/DEHRADUN
Today early morning after breakfast, you will drive downhill to Rishikesh a spiritual city and the Yoga capital of the world. On arrival in Rishikesh proceed for Rishikesh sightseeing visit Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula. In the evening drive to Haridwar. After 4pm you will be transferred to Airport/ Railway Station to board your flight/ train back home or to your next destination.
