Fez city tour
Fes is a northeastern Moroccan city often referred to as the country’s cultural capital. It’s primarily known for its Fes El Bali walled medina, with medieval Marinid architecture, vibrant souks and old-world atmosphere. The medina is home to religious schools such as the 14th-century Bou Inania and Al Attarine, both decorated with elaborate cedar carvings and ornate tile work.
Marrakech city tour
Marrakesh, a former imperial city in western Morocco, is a major economic center and home to mosques, palaces and gardens. The medina is a densely packed, walled medieval city dating to the Berber Empire, with mazelike alleys where thriving souks (marketplaces) sell traditional textiles, pottery and jewelry. A symbol of the city, and visible for miles, is the Moorish minaret of 12th-century Koutoubia Mosque.
Itinerary
Day 1 : ARRIVE CASABLANCA
Arrive at Casablanca airport. Then, transfer to the hotel and check-in. Rest of the day is at Leisure for you to explore on your own. Overnight at at the hotel in Casablanca.
Day 2 : CASABLANCA – RABAT
Today, proceed for Casablanca city tour. Visit the central market, the Habous district, the Royal palace, the Mohammed V square, the residential area of Anfa the Hassan II Mosque. Proceed to Rabat. Visit the Royal palace (Mechouar), the Kasbah Oudaya, the Mohammed V mausoleum and the Hassan Tower. Overnight at the hotel in Rabat.
Day 3 : RABAT – MEKNES – VOLUBILIS – FEZ
Today, proceed to Fez. Enroute Fez, stop to discover the fabulous Volubilis. Volubilis has been recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site and gained international acclaim when Martin Scorsese made it as feature location for his film, The Last Temptation of Christ. Begin your visit by discovering the fascinating Roman ruins adorned with beautiful mosaics and colorful tiles depicting Roman mythology. The ruins are spread out across several acres and what remains visible is several fragments of wall, parts of massive columns, the capital, the basilica and a triumphal arch. Continue to Meknes. Embark on an orientation tour of Meknes. Begin your tour of Meknes at Bab Mansour. Enter Place El-Hedime (Square of Ruins) which links the medina and the Kasbah. The square is lined with modern residential buildings and a covered food souk (market), Mosque, Menzah (pavilion), courtyard, kitchen and hammam. Upon arrival at Fez, checkin to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel in Fez.
Day 4 : FEZ – CITY TOUR
Today, proceed for the city tour of Fez. the spiritual capital of Morocco. Visit the medieval Medina and its Attarine and Bou Inania Medersas, the Nejjarine fountain and Karaouine mosque. In the afternoon, visit Fez Jdid. Overnight at the hotel in Fez.
Day 5 : FEZ – ERFOUD - MERZOUGA
Today, depart to Merzouga camp. Begin the journery to Erfoud via the mountains and the cedar woods of the Middle Atlas, passing by Ifrane, a charming ski resort, and Azrou, an important handicraft center. Continue to Erfoud via Errachidia and the Ziz valley, dotted with palm trees, source of the yearly festival in Erfoud. Continue to Merzouga camp and check-in to the camp. Dinner & Overnight at Merzouga Camp.
Day 6 : MERZOUGA –TINGHIR – OURZAZATE
Today, depart to Ouarzazate. Take the road to Rissani, the holy city where Moulay Ali Cherif, ancestor of the Alaouite dynasty is buried. Visit the Kasbah of the 17th century and the Ksar Abbar ruins before continuation to Tinghir via the Tinjdad road. Visit the magnificent Todgha canyons which has rocks reaching an altitude of 250m. Continue to Ouarzazate via the road of the 1000 Kasbahs and the Dades valley, famous for its roses and the yearly Moussem (rose festival). Dinner & Overnight at hotel in Ouarzazate.
Day 7 : OURZAZATE – AIT BEN HADDOU – MARRAKECH
Today, Visit the outside of the Kasbahs Taourirt, Tiffeltout and the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, the most spectacular fortress in the South of Morocco, which has served as décor for many films like ‘Lawrence of Arabia’. Proceed to Marrakesh via the Tizin’Tichka pass offering an impressive landscape in the heart of the Atlas Mountains. Upon arrival at Marrakech, check-in to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel in Marrakech.
Day 8 :MARRAKECH – CITY TOUR
Today, proceed for the city tour of Marrakech, the second oldest Imperial city, known as the Pearl of the South. The city was founded by the Almoravides at the end of the 11th century. The historical sightseeing includes the Menara gardens, the Bahia palace and the Koutoubia. Visit the souks and handicraft quarters, displaying a variety of items and the famous place Djemaa El Fna with its nonstop entertainment. Overnight at the hotel in Marrakech.
Day 9 :MARRAKECH – DEPART CASABLANCA
Today morning, check-out and proceed to Casablanca Airport for your flight back home.
